Learning the Spanish Language

[ No Comments ] Posted on 11.07.09 under Blogging

I’ve always been interested to learn other languages because it is one of my dreams to become multilingual. I feel that by enrolling in Spanish classes, I am slowly fulfilling this aspiration. I thought that learning Spanish would be as easy as a-b-c but I found it a little challenging. There are already a lot of Spanish words in my dialect but still there are a lot more Spanish words to learn. They have a totally different set of grammar rules and I admit that I have a difficult time familiarizing them and use them to create sentences. Despite the challenges I am facing, I am still determined to learn the language. I really want to be fluent in it and converse with Spanish-speaking people from the different parts of the world. Whoa! That would really be great!

My friend discovered an email hosting service that will allow small and medium companies to bring their email to the next level. The service is called Hosted Exchange. It offers the full functionality of the Microsoft Exchange server wherein companies will not have to shoulder the challenges and high costs of maintaining their own in-house Exchange solution. With this technology, the executives and employees of institutions will be able to easily access their emails through the computers in the office, mobile devices or to any place they are located as long as there is available internet connection. Savoring the Tasty New York’s Finest Pizza

[ No Comments ] Posted on 09.03.09 under Blogging

I have been very busy lately and I got no time to cook a decent meal. There are just a lot of things to do that I can’t even manage to eat at the right time. I got so hungry and tired that all I could think of is to order my favorite New York’s Finest Pizza from Yellow Cab. That was a sign that I needed a break.

I dialled Yellow Cab’s number (789-9999) and ordered for a 14-inch pizza and a 1.5 liter of Coke. I was impatiently waiting for the food and I couldn’t wait to eat. When my order arrived, I digged into the pizza and savored a tasty slice. With my hunger, I was able to finish two big slices and 2 glasses of softdrinks.

After that hearty meal, I felt relaxed, energized and ready to work again.

This is the first time that the Bahamas will be hosting the Ms. Universe Beauty Pageant and the Philippine candidate, Ms. Philippines Pamela Bianca Manalo, received a cordial welcome from more than 500 Filipinos residing in the country. She feels quite comfortable staying in the host nation where she and her fellow Ms. Universe candidates have been staying for more than a month.

Ms. Manalo was happy when the Pinoys showed her their support as they cheered for her to win in this remarkable event. This is the 58th year of the pageant and it will be held at the Atlantis Resort Paradise Island. On the previous year, Vietnam hosted the event where Ms. Venezuela was crowned the title. Two years back, it was held at Mexico and Ms. Japan won as Ms. Universe. Read the rest of this entry…

I have finished my Basic Culinary Course last May 22, 2009. It was only a 4-day program but I definitely learned a lot from it. This had been my very first attempt in cooking school and I can say that I had a great time.

Our lessons comprised of lectures, demos and hands-on. Our lectures covered kitchen organization, hygiene and sanitation, food contamination, kitchen tools, equipment and measurements, methods of cooking, menu planning, different delicious recipes and a lot more. Read the rest of this entry…

Newark Airport Transportation

I have always loved to travel and I enjoy it even more when I am with my family and friends. There was a time when my family and I traveled to New York City. We really had a great time because we did not have to worry about anything especially on our transportation. My brother made a wise move in booking ahead for a Newark Airport Transportation. There were six of us and we had several luggages so we booked for a Standard SUV. Everyone really enjoyed the comfort and convenience that the ride gave us. Read the rest of this entry…

Valentine’s Day in the Philippines

[ No Comments ] Posted on 02.06.09 under Blogging

I don’t know when Valentine’s Day started in the Philippines but it is definitely a special day annually observed by Filipinos. Whatever the status is: Single, Married, In a relationship, It’s Complicated or Domestic Partnership, most Pinoys do not let this Hearts Day pass without doing something special for their loved ones to show their love for them. It is also on this day when you can see flowers and Valentine cards being delivered in schools, offices, residences and everywhere. Prices of flowers are much more expensive compared to ordinary days but you can see a lot of men flock the flower shops, no longer thinking that they may be paying double for them. Any outfit in red is also dominant. Restaurants are pretty crowded. Romantic films are shown in movie houses readily patronized by lovers. Parks are overflowing with couples. Motels are fully-booked. One can literally say that love is in the air when you hear a lot of love songs being played anywhere you go. You can see many people holding hands somehow exclaiming to the world that they are in-love with each other. These are the common things that happen during Valentine’s Day. Wall-E Movie Review

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.26.08 under Blogging

We watched Wall-E last Sunday night. It was not really a movie of preference but there is nothing more interesting to watch aside from it.

The first 10-15 minutes of the movie was dragging. It concentrated on the robot called Wall-E. Its lifestyle was shown on how its robot life is spent each day. It was a lonely robot. Luckily, a cockroach became its friend and liven up its daily life. Despite the slow roll of events on the first part, the movie picked up speed on the next events as the essence of the story was unfolded. When the film was shown, I think the kids enjoyed it.

I find the movie interesting and I do think it was a good one but it didn’t really give such a kick like what I expected. Maybe there should have been more exciting events for it to be more appealing to people aside from kids.

PR3 or PR0?

[ No Comments ] Posted on 05.03.08 under Blogging

I checked my website today and I was surprised to see that it showed a PR3! Hmmm…I wonder in what data center did the previous PR0 came from. I’m also wondering, for people who drop by my site (if ever there are any),  what is the PR that you see for my site?

I still don’t have any relevant topic to talk about today because I still am very busy but I do hope that in the near future, I can post some new interesting ones so that you can read posts with real meat here. :)

Hello World! I’m Back (only for today)!

[ No Comments ] Posted on 05.01.08 under Blogging

I haven’t written anything on this blog for more than a month, much worse even check it. I currently have a lot of things on my plate and I just don’t have the luxury of time to update this site as often as I used to. I was happy to drop by my site today but only to find out that Google dropped me from PR2 to PR0! Damn! I’m just so devastated with what happened! I know PR2 is not pretty big but it is still PR2! At least it’s much higher than nothing at all! I know that Google has reasons why they dumped my site and I just learned about this “supplementary results” thing and maybe, just maybe they dumped me in there. Dunno.

Well, oh, well. At this point, I would just have to leave it as it is. I still have other important things to take care of. I just hope that I will gain my PR back. :-)

Manila Ocean Park

[ No Comments ] Posted on 03.13.08 under Blogging, Entertainment

Manila Ocean Park. It’s one of the big fuss nowadays. It was opened on February 29, 2008. I heard about it on the news when it was featured in TV Patrol World. I got intrigued by it because it is the first Oceanarium in the Philippines. With much curiosity, there are a lot of people who really want to visit the place and see for themselves  what this spectacular place offers. I was one of those people who want to experience the beauty of the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines. With much enthusiasm to see the place, I went there with someone last Saturday (March 8, 2008).

There were a lot of people indeed. There was a very long line of people too excited to see the Oceanarium and we all had to be patient to wait in line. But after the tiresome wait for almost 2 hours, me and my companion finally got in. There were two doors where people gain entry to the Oceanarium. Above those doors were detectors which count the number of people who enter it. I was shocked to see the figures because on that day at around 5pm, there were almost 9000 visitors and people still kept coming in! Read the rest of this entry…

What is Internet Marketing?

[ No Comments ] Posted on 02.20.08 under Blogging, Internet Marketing

What is Internet Marketing?Even before I took the free online training course offered by WebCEO, I already have my own understanding of what Internet Marketing is. For me, Internet Marketing is basically promoting your products and services with the use of the Internet. I was right with that but I did not know anything more about Internet Marketing until I delve more into its core. From the online training, I learned that for you to make use of the Internet as an advertising platform in promoting your goods and services, you can use the different marketing strategies which are widely used by site owners such as Email Marketing, Banner and Text Advertising, Affiliate Marketing, Interactive Advertising, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) which includes Search Engine Optimization and Pay-Per-Click Advertising and Social Media Marketing Methods consisting of Blog Marketing and Viral Marketing.

The growth of Internet Marketing is very fast considering the benefits that it offers such as making huge amounts of information accessible to consumers at a low cost. Many companies that apply Internet Marketing can cut cost in their sales force and thus save money. Website owners will also have a bigger chance of reaching their target markets as they can easily distribute information not only to local prospects but also to their national or international audience. Justine Henin and Svetlana Kuznetsova

[ No Comments ] Posted on 01.22.08 under Blogging

While I was browsing through different channels on cable, I got dismayed because there was nothing that I found interesting to watch. Until such time that I stumbled at a sports channel featuring two female tennis players. The scene immediately caught my interest especially when I recalled that I was planning to learn to play tennis with my friends. As the show continued and scores were shown on the screen, I learned that the two female tennis athletes were Justine Henin of Belgium and Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia. The two played in a tournament held in Sydney, Australia and if I remembered it correctly, one of their sponsors was Medibank. I don’t recall however what the name of the tournament was. Justine Henin defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova during their game retaining the number one spot.

Many people love to express their thoughts, emotions and opinions through writing, and I am one of them. I love to write about anything that awakens my interest or something that other people are interested in. Before, I used to write these things in my private journal and no one else knew about the things I have written. Nobody read about some poems I have dedicated for a special person in my life, no one knew about what my opinions were about controversial issues happening in the country, not one person knew about the things that made me smile, laugh and cry. Even when there were times that I want to share these stuff that I write to other people close to me and those who don’t know me, there was no venue for that.

The Wedding Book Review

[ No Comments ] Posted on 01.18.08 under Blogging

The Wedding Book ReviewDespite my busy schedule, I am amazed that I still find time to sit back and relax with a book in my hands. I love to read novels especially when the book is written by Nicholas Sparks. He is one of my favorite authors and I really admire him for his knack in presenting romantic stories. I really liked every book that I have read from his collection. He has thirteen published novels and I have read five of them namely: “The Notebook”, “Message in a Bottle”, “A Walk to Remember”, “A Bend in the Road” and the most recent one was “The Wedding”.

Summary:

Wilson Lewis has been married to his wife, Jane, for thirty years and the way things are happening in their marriage, he thinks that he and his wife have drifted apart and the most painful part of it is that he feels that his wife had fallen out of love with him and he knew that there is no one else to blame but himself.

Despite the inspiration that he gets from his in-laws Noah and Allie Calhoun (whose own love story was told in The Notebook) Read the rest of this entry…

Chinese Zodiacs

[ No Comments ] Posted on 01.16.08 under Blogging

Yin YangI was pondering on what topic I will write about and it suddenly occurred to me that finding out about how compatible me and my special someone are seemed to awaken my interest. As a Christian, I do not really rely on the Chinese zodiacs for my life’s destiny or fortune because I believe in God’s providence and the importance of hardwork and perseverance but I certainly give my due respect to these things.

To satisfy the curiosity building up in me, I searched for our birthdays and I found out that I was born in the “year of the pig” and my elemental sign is water pig while my partner on the other hand was born in the “year of the dog” and his elemental sign is water dog. I learned that the dog is the 11th sign of the zodiac while pig is the 12th. Some of the positive traits of people born in the year of the dog are loyal, dependable, funny, honest, intelligent and straightforward while negative ones are quick-temper, over-protective, blunt, arrogant and aloof. Some of the positive traits of people born in the year of the pig are caring, tolerant, patient, straightforward, sensitive and hospitable while negative ones are vulnerable, spendthrift, indulgent and naive.
