Who would think that a movie starring several big stars in both sides of the Pacific could deliver a relatively disappointing third movie of a mummy brought back to life. Here are the reasons why I feel this movie will be better if they have the following
What I don’t like in the ending is that the daughter never talked with his dead father (which sucks) and the special effects with both parents faces forming in the dust flowing in the wind reminds me of the effect they used in the previous movies. I was hoping for something more original but they only had a few that I found interesting.

But of course, there are parts in the movie that I liked Read the rest of this entry…

We went to see this romantic comedy “A Very Special Love” at SM Megamall. The movie was about the following
The movie shows that even a heartless person can fall in love with a happy go lucky girl with just a simple post-it notes in the coffee in the morning. As much as I want to share some spoilers, I urge you to watch the movie in cinemas or wait until a DVD version comes out. Basta ang cute talaga at nakakakilig!
We all know that Sarah Geronimo has crush with John Lloyd Cruz, and this movie is a surely Sarah’s greatest dream to finally become a leading lady of her greatest crush.
In the movie, you will definitely see spark’s in Sarah’s eyes and she really expressed her emotions as it were for real Read the rest of this entry…

We went to see the movie entitled Journey to the Center of the Earth. We were expecting it to be a remake of the novel but interestingly they made it an adventure movie with a similar style to National Treasure.
The movie was a great adventure movie for the family. We laughed several times watching the film and we had a reborn interest of reading novels by Jules Verne.
The reason I said it was like National Treasure, it because it looks like it will become a series of movies staring both Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson and their adventures, and their next stop is…. Atlantis (spoiler alert!).
Overall it was a great adventure movie for the entire family.

Manila Ocean Park. It’s one of the big fuss nowadays. It was opened on February 29, 2008. I heard about it on the news when it was featured in TV Patrol World. I got intrigued by it because it is the first Oceanarium in the Philippines. With much curiosity, there are a lot of people who really want to visit the place and see for themselves what this spectacular place offers. I was one of those people who want to experience the beauty of the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines. With much enthusiasm to see the place, I went there with someone last Saturday (March 8, 2008).
There were a lot of people indeed. There was a very long line of people too excited to see the Oceanarium and we all had to be patient to wait in line. But after the tiresome wait for almost 2 hours, me and my companion finally got in. There were two doors where people gain entry to the Oceanarium. Above those doors were detectors which count the number of people who enter it. I was shocked to see the figures because on that day at around 5pm, there were almost 9000 visitors and people still kept coming in! Read the rest of this entry…

I watched the most-awaited film “My Big Love” yesterday at SM MegaMall Cinema 10. This movie is starred by promising young movie stars in the industry namely Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby and Kristine Hermosa. Co-stars in the film are Sandy Andolong, Ricardo Cepeda, Malou de Guzman, Janus del Prado, Jaymee Joaquin, Michelle Madrigal, Lito Pimentel, Aldred Gatchalian and many more. I have seen its trailer on TV several times and people who have already watched it blurted words of praise on how wonderful and romantic the movie is. I somehow got intrigued to that but even before I heard comments from people who have already seen the movie, I already planned to watch it by the time I knew that it is going to be shown as a post-Valentine film.
The story is about a pastry chef named Macky (Sam Milby) who has struggled with his weight for a long time. His dream girl is Ninia (Kristine Hermosa) who is also his chat mate. He constantly gives her pastries and flowers without revealing himself. Until such time that they decided to meet but unfortunately, it was a total disaster. As a result, he hired Aira (Toni Gonzaga) as his personal trainer and as they worked together to achieve Macky’s ideal weight, they both learned to like and appreciate each other. It was not long when an offer from Japan came Aira’s way and she decided to accept it, being the breadwinner of the family. Two years passed and the Macky that everyone used to laugh at has now become one of the sought-after bachelors in the city and who is soon-to-be engaged to his girlfriend Ninia. It was also at this time that Aira’s and Macky’s paths crossed again. The confusion and turmoil led into heartaches for the three people involved in the love triangle. It is now up to Macky who he will choose as his big love: Ninia, the girl he had always dreamed of or Aira, the girl who has always accepted him for who and what he is? Read the rest of this entry…

It was fortunate for me that I was able to watch the one, the only Oscars Night which was held on February 24, 2008 at 5pm PST/8pm EST! I was not there with the prestigious Hollywood stars at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California but I was in front of my TV admiring the stunning actors and actresses in their different expensive gowns and suits created for them by well-renowned designers solely for this remarkable occasion.
I liked how Anne Hathaway, Heidi Klum and Miley Cyrus looked in their fabulous dresses. Jessica Alba was also very beautiful even in her pregnant status. The beauty of Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Garner never faded all these years. Read the rest of this entry…

It’s really One Great January 28, 2008 because it is the first time that three big shows premiered on the same date on Philippine Television. ABS-CBN is very proud to present three great shows that will truly charm, delight and captivate our hearts:
Kung Fu Kids -This comedy, action, fantasy and adventure-packed program is a very entertaining series appealing to all ages especially the kids. It is considered as the first Philippine-produced live action anime which covers the tale of seven kids who were united by a prophecy. This is also the first series shown in the history of Philippine Television that uses “Motion Capture Animation Effects”.
Lobo - The format of this show is action, drama, fantasy, thriller and mystery. This enfolds a story related to werewolves starring Piolo Pascual (Noah Ortega) and Angel Locsin (Lyka Raymundo). You will be amazed on the many revelations on the story.
Palos – This is another Primetime Bida show that will surely be a big hit! It is action-packed and conveys drama as well. This was taken from a classic Filipino comics and an adaptation of a film character, Alyas Palos.
I know that these shows will be greatly supported by many viewers and Read the rest of this entry…

I went to the mall yesterday and I passed by a video store which had a big sale on many selected items. I got psyched in taking advantage of it as prices were practically 50% to 75% off! With this kind of offer, of course, there were many people who flocked to the store and I was one of them.
I came across a lot of films which I have already watched on cable as well as in cinemas but there was one movie which I really liked during my junior year in high school that I really want to get hold of. I searched for it among the racks of DVDs and VCDs but I didn’t see it. It occurred to me that asking assistance from the store attendant will definitely help me in looking for it and yes, I was absolutely right. When I asked the store attendant for a copy of the movie, 10 Things I Hate About You, it only took him 3 seconds to locate it. I was sure glad I thought about asking for assistance or else I could have spent an hour or more looking for it. Read the rest of this entry…

When I have some free time to just sit back and relax, I look forward to watching ABS-CBN’s shows especially during Primetime Bida. I learned that the biggest game show in the country, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, will be replaced by a new popular game show which is considered as the longest-running game show in the United States, Wheel of Fortune. This show will be aired on January 14, 2008 before TV Patrol World and it will be hosted by the Game Show Queen of the Philippines, Ms. Kris Aquino.
I find this upcoming show very interesting because I am a big fan of Wheel of Fortune and I know that I will surely watch this show. Through the trailers that I have seen, I think that popular celebrities like Ruffa Gutierrez, Martin Nievera and Mariel Rodriguez will be its first set of contestants.
When I have time, I also watch soap operas in ABS-CBN like Maging Sino ka Man, Lastikman, Ysabella and many more. Read the rest of this entry…

I know that it is quite late to post about this event but I thought that it would also be good to put a closure on this subject since I have blogged about this for quite some time. In fact, I am very grateful on this reality TV series because through this, my blog site was noticed. Talking about this topic increased my site traffic and I am more than happy and grateful for all those people who kept visiting my site to check out on updates about this show as well as other stuff that I blog about and for those people who gave comments on my PBB posts.
With regard to the Big Night, I was able to watch it, but unfortunately, not all of it. I came home from my hometown last Saturday, January 5, and I was so tired that I slept in the late afternoon till around past nine o’clock in the evening. I could say that this was the night that every PBB fan out there has been waiting for. The Big Four, Ruben Gonzaga, Gaby dela Merced, Riza Santos and Will Devaughn, were very excited themselves to know who among them will emerge as the Big Winner. Read the rest of this entry…

I was able to watch PBB tonight and couldn’t help myself from being sad with what I saw. I haven’t watched the show for a long time and thus a hiatus regarding my blogging on this topic. I didn’t expect that this is what I will be blogging on my return.
The episode showed that the girls won the game for the day and the boys were asked to prepare a treat for them by cooking several food. The housemates had a wonderful day until the time when Yayo was given a bad news.
Amidst the laughter and fun while the boys were preparing for the girls’ treat, Kuya asked Yayo to the confession room to discuss a serious and important matter. In the confession room, Kuya revealed to Yayo that her husband, William Martinez, called Big Brother to inform them that Yayo’s mother was critical in the hospital. Yayo shed tears upon hearing the news. With this family emergency, she was allowed to go out and visit her mother at the hospital and Mariel was given the task to accompany her. After Mariel and Yayo left, the housemates offered prayers for the recovery of Yayo’s mom.
When Mariel and Yayo went to the hospital, they were both shocked to know that Yayo’s mom was already dead. They were told that in the morning, she was still alright but later on the day, Yayo’s family saw her mom lying motionless on the floor. Due to the sorrow of losing her mom, Yayo was not able to contain herself and expressed her grief of losing an important person in her life by crying heavily. Read the rest of this entry…

One of the movies that I am looking forward to watch is National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets, a sequel of the film National Treasure which was shown in 2004. My boyfriend and I have long waited for it to be shown and when we knew it will be released on December 21, we made sure that we are free on that day to go to the cinema. It was only a few days ago when I learned that instead of December 21, it will be shown on January 8, 2008 in our country. I was really disappointed because I wanted to see it before Christmas.
Stars on this film include Nicolas Cage (Benjamin Franklin Gates), Justin Bartha (Riley Poole), Diane Kruger (Abigail Gates), Jon Voight (Patrick Henry Gates), Harvey Keitel (FBI Agent Peter Sadusky), Helen Mirren (Emily Appleton Gates), Ed Harris (Jeb Wilkinson), Bruce Greenwood (US President), Alicia Coppola (FBI Agent Dawes), Manny Oliveres (Secret Service Agent) and Joel Gretsch (Thomas Gates).
Despite its moved premiere, we will definitely free our schedules to watch it on the big screen!

I had wanted to write about this very outstanding and widely-viewed reality TV show for quite some time and yet I never had the chance until today. Ever since this newly aired TV show began, I practically became one of its avid viewers. So far there were 4 episodes shown and I am proud to say that I have watched them all. There were two instances, including last night, when I almost failed to watch it because I had commitments outside but due to my love for this show, I really managed to cut short these appointments and went home rushing to catch the fun and exciting episodes.
Amazing Race Asia 2 made its debut last November 22, 2007. Singapore kickstarted the race where Allan Wu, the show’s gorgeous host, and ten official teams assembled at the Asian Civilizations Museum by the Singapore River. Teams consist of siblings, ex-housemates, friends and a married couple. These adventurous teams who will fight for $100,000 are absolutely unique because this is the first time that the management included a team from Japan and a teammate with a hearing disability.
These are the 10 official teams: Read the rest of this entry…

I just came home from watching the movie The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. I am a sucker for fantasy films like the popular trilogies of The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix and X-Men that is why I didn’t let this movie pass.
The story involves an orphan named Lyra who lives in a fantastical parallel universe wherein a dictative Magisterium threatens to preponderate. When her best mate Roger Parslow was kidnapped, together with other children, and brought to the North, she made significant decisions which led her to rescue him. Along the way, she met several people who played a big part in her journey like the armored bear Loric Byrnison (voice of Ian Mckellen) whom she had a contract with, Serafina Pekkala (Eva Green) who was the queen of the witches, a Texan “aeronaut” (Sam Elliot) who helped Lyra in her quest and many others.
The Golden Compass is the first installment of Pullman’s trilogy, His Dark Materials, in which the pre-publication title was actually The Golden Compasses. The word compasses originally referred to the drawing instrument instead of the navigational compass. The first book was then entitled by Pullman as the Northern Lights and referred to the trilogy as The Golden Compasses. It was the U.S. publisher, Alfred A. Knopf, who omitted the plural form of the title as he believed that the compass refers to Lyra’s alethiometer. Meanwhile in the UK, Pullman changed the title from The Golden Compasses to His Dark Materials but the title The Golden Compass adhered to the publishers and they insisted on publishing the book with the latter title rather than The Northern Lights. When The Golden Compass gained popularity in the United States and Canada, New Line Cinema used this title for the adaptation. Read the rest of this entry…

I went out for the night and unfortunately, I was not able to catch up the whole episode of the Pinoy Big Brother Second Eviction Night. What I saw was the part wherein Toni announced that Megan Young was the first nominee saved from eviction. That left the Geisler brothers, Donnie and Baron, together with Zara, as the possible evictee/s. Among the two nominees, Toni said that Donnie and Baron were safe and that means Zara needed to leave the PBB House as the Pinoy Big Brother Second Evictee.
Megan got 50% of the votes while Donnie and Baron got around 31% and Zara got around 18%.
From the outcome, I could say that Megan was really lucky the second time around. She had proven herself again that she is still worthy to be inside Kuya’s house. I do hope that she will grow and learn many things in the house to make the most out of her stay. For the Baron brothers, good luck. I also hope that Baron will be more sensitive on the feelings of others and Donnie to stay as responsible as he is and yet be open to new learnings coming his way. For Zara, I noticed that she was the quietest of all the housemates. I haven’t heard and seen much of her. But I believe that there is still more of her than what we have already seen on the previous episodes but unfortunately, she will no longer be able to show it to the people as she already left the PBB House.
Tomorrow is the third elimination night. Will Megan Young and the 2-in-1 housemates, Baron Geisler and Donald Geisler, be on the list again?

Yesterday, Jennifer da Silva and Marylaine Viernes were evicted from the Pinoy Big Brother House. The housemates especially those who are close to her like Mariel and Ethel really misses her. They said they miss her laughter and stories.
For the nomination, Mariel Rodriguez commented that she already had a strategy on who to nominate so it was easier for her. Jon Avila on the other hand said that it was difficult for him because he is getting to know the housemates.
While the housemates are in the living room, there is a small box on the table wherein the housemates are clueless to what it is. Toni Gonzaga said that the stuff inside the box has something to do with the nominated housemates. Toni said that the celebrities will find out about it later.
Toni also pointed out that Mariel did her second nomination and she stressed that just like the first time Mariel nominated, this second set of nominees will not be counted as official votes.
With regard to the box, it was Ethel who opened it. There were 2 black medallions in it. The medallions will be worn by the Nominees.
The ceremony where the black medallions will be awarded to the Nominees begun. Read the rest of this entry…

The nominees for eviction were the Princess of Charm Megan Young (BB 2) and the 2-in-1 housemates Brainy Babe Marylaine Viernes and Despised Babe Jennifer da Silva (BB 8). The housemates were all restless as they await the decision on who will be evicted from the Pinoy Big Brother House especially Megan, Marylaine and Jennifer who were really nervous to know the result.
With regard to Marylaine and Jennifer, I could say that they started their rift when Jennifer knew that Marylaine was the reason why she was nominated for eviction. From that time, these two had their arguments and misunderstandings. Recently, Marylaine wanted to reconcile with Jennifer before they go out of the house in case they get evicted. It seemed that Jennifer’s heart is not into it but the latter expresses that Marylaine has been good to her lately and that Marylaine apologized for whatever wrong she had done.
Jennifer had a talk with Baron wherein she said that she is ready to go out of Kuya’s house. According to her, the two weeks that she had been staying in the PBB House was worth it and she had no regrets on it. Baron reacted saying that she may just be saying that because she has been nominated. Jennifer corrected Baron that she was not nominated, it was actually Marylaine who got a lot of votes thereby implying that she (Jennifer) does not have any problems with the housemates. The introduction was a “live” dance presentation by all of the housemates as they grooved to the tune of “budotz dance.” They were all amazing! Their costumes were very colorful and weird but to sum everything up, the performance was a blast!
There were also top three 7K boys who were chosen and they were Victor, Jon and Will. These three gorgeous men had a triple date with Megan, Riza and Ethel. On their date, Kuya served them isaw, tuyo and tokneneng (chicken head). Big Brother ordered all of them to taste and eat the three types of food that were served. It turned out that Megan doesn’t eat tuyo but she still ate her share. After each of them had eaten their share, there were still some food left and Megan suggested that they share the food to the other housemates. Big Brother agreed to her suggestion on one condition: that Megan and Victor should eat all the remaining tuyo and tokneneng. Even if it was against her will, Megan still did her best to eat the street food given to her. She was crying though while she was completing the task.
When Toni asked Megan why she reacted that way, Megan confided that it is her first time to eat street food and she really doesn’t like tuyo. With regard to the tokneneng, she said that she never thought that chicken head is being eaten. For her, it was really weird.
Previous events were shown. There was a time when Kuya asked the housemates to go to the confession room by batch. There were three batches. The housemates, except Jennifer and Baron, were informed by Big Brother that there are 2-in-1 housemates in the house. He explained that when they nominate one of them, the other will also be nominated. Kuya revealed that the 2-in-1 housemates are Jennifer and Marylaine as well as Donald and Baron. Big Brother explained further that if they will give Marylaine 2 points, Jennifer will also earn 2 points. If Baron will get 1 point, Donald will have the same point. Read the rest of this entry…

Tonight’s episode showed Will and Zarah cooking in the kitchen. Big Brother caught Will’s attention because he did not use the hand-held microphone that he is supposed to use everytime he talks. He was given a mic stand by Kuya as a consequence. Thus, everytime he wants to talk, he needs to go to the mic stand or otherwise bring with him the mic stand all the time. Hmmm…isn’t that tiring Will?
Looking back on the events yesterday, while Mariel welcomed Jon Avila and as people were teasing outside, inside the PBB house, Will and Riza are being paired up. The housemates were teasing Will and Riza. Jennifer told Riza that she is the crush of Will. Will said that it’s only a joke. But I’m wondering why can’t Will just take away the smile on his face? Does it mean there’s a possibility for it to be true?
As we can recall, Mariel is Kuya’s Special House Guest and she is inside the house for a mission. When she was already in the house, she still couldn’t believe that Big Brother is really making her one of the housemates. As a result, Kuya allowed Mariel to see a video of Boy Abunda. The coverage showed the seven boys dressed in pink dresses looking like the 26K girls while the girl housemates were putting make up on the boys’ faces. The guys will have a presentation.
Mariel was also asked to go to the confession room. She was given the opportunity to talk to her friend, Bianca. Bianca asked how she is and Mariel said that she is now ok and enjoying her stay in the house unlike yesterday when she was really shocked and didn’t know what to do. She said that the message of her Manager, Boy Abunda, made her understand the whole situation better and that made her accept the fact that she will really be staying in the PBB house for quite some time. Their conversation was cut off as other events in the PBB hose were shown.

Victor Basa and Gaby Dela Merced spent some time together. As they talked, they were passing the “pigskin” or the “football” to each other. They enjoyed their conversation. Tonight’s Primetime Telecast showed what happened during the arrival of Macoy Fundales and Zarah Aldana.
The housemate’s activity for the night was also shown. It appeared that Mariel is now having fun in Kuya’s house. Toni further explained that Mariel was not forced to be inside the house and that she gave her permission. Mariel’s Manager Boy Abunda also gave his permission for Mariel to stay in the PBB house.
The highlight of tonight’s episode is Ethel Booba’s entry to the Big Brother House. Before she was accompanied by Toni Gonzaga inside the house, Toni asked her the final question, “Ethel, sigurado ka na bang pumasok sa bahay ni Kuya?” and Ethel replied, “Siguradong-sigurado na!” with conviction. A lot of us knew that in the past few days, Ethel had been a controversial item in tabloids and in the news. She had various concerns which made her confused in making the decision whether to pursue and accept Kuya’s invitation for her to become one of the housemates. It was known that she was supposedly scheduled to enter Kuya’s house earlier but due to her half-hearted decision to go inside the PBB House, her entry to the house was postponed. And yet tonight, the “Ultimate Pasaway” has finally made her decision to enter the Big Brother House. In the Confession Room, Kuya talked to Ethel and advised her of the house rules. When Toni asked if she could leave, Kuya said that she can stay. Toni was confused and shocked whether she is really one of the housemates. Read the rest of this entry…
