Chinese Zodiacs

Yin YangI was pondering on what topic I will write about and it suddenly occurred to me that finding out about how compatible me and my special someone are seemed to awaken my interest. As a Christian, I do not really rely on the Chinese zodiacs for my life’s destiny or fortune because I believe in God’s providence and the importance of hardwork and perseverance but I certainly give my due respect to these things.

To satisfy the curiosity building up in me, I searched for our birthdays and I found out that I was born in the “year of the pig” and my elemental sign is water pig while my partner on the other hand was born in the “year of the dog” and his elemental sign is water dog. I learned that the dog is the 11th sign of the zodiac while pig is the 12th. Some of the positive traits of people born in the year of the dog are loyal, dependable, funny, honest, intelligent and straightforward while negative ones are quick-temper, over-protective, blunt, arrogant and aloof. Some of the positive traits of people born in the year of the pig are caring, tolerant, patient, straightforward, sensitive and hospitable while negative ones are vulnerable, spendthrift, indulgent and naive.

I also searched for our polarities and I was astonished to know that my polarity is yin while my partner’s polarity is yang.  Yin (black) and Yang (white) according to the definition in Wikipedia means “two mutually correlated opposites” and also referred to as heaven and earth. Moreover, I got intrigued when I found out that the dog sign is most compatible with horse, tiger and pig signs and the pig sign is most compatible with goat, rabbit and dog signs. Very interesting.

It’s good to know about all these stuff about the Chinese zodiacs yet I still believe that a relationship will be successful when two people will do their best to make things work out, not just a one-way effort.
