Manila Ocean Park. It’s one of the big fuss nowadays. It was opened on February 29, 2008. I heard about it on the news when it was featured in TV Patrol World. I got intrigued by it because it is the first Oceanarium in the Philippines. With much curiosity, there are a lot of people who really want to visit the place and see for themselves what this spectacular place offers. I was one of those people who want to experience the beauty of the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines. With much enthusiasm to see the place, I went there with someone last Saturday (March 8, 2008).
There were a lot of people indeed. There was a very long line of people too excited to see the Oceanarium and we all had to be patient to wait in line. But after the tiresome wait for almost 2 hours, me and my companion finally got in. There were two doors where people gain entry to the Oceanarium. Above those doors were detectors which count the number of people who enter it. I was shocked to see the figures because on that day at around 5pm, there were almost 9000 visitors and people still kept coming in!
The facility boasts of a 25 meter-long underwater tunnel which is surrounded by awesome creatures and where people can walk through . You can see different species of fishes, invertebrates and sharks. This is the first world-class marine themed park which brings together an Oceanarium, mall, restaurant row, boutique hotel, open water marine habitats and multi-purpose function facilities. I really loved watching all the beautiful marine creatures! I used to see them only on TV and books but that time they were really in front of me! It was such a fascinating experience!
After spending time with the marine life in the Oceanarium, we went out to head home but we were surprised to see that there was a show outside. Showbiz personalities like Valerie Concepcion (Wowowee) , Joross Gamboa and Jasmine Fitzgerald (Wheel of Fortune) and a few others entertained the crowd. Joross was handsome and the two ladies were stunning especially Jasmine. I don’t really find her beautiful on TV and she looks like a morena but when I saw her in person, she was very beautiful and fair-skinned. I now agree with what other people say that some people whom you don’t find attractive on TV are really beautiful or handsome in person.
Now for those of you who still haven’t gone to Manila Ocean Park, you can visit the place from Mondays through Sundays. Operating hours from Mondays-Fridays are from 10am-9pm while on Saturdays and Sundays, they are open from 9am-9pm. Tickets are sold at P400/head for adults and P350/head for children.
