Despite my busy schedule, I am amazed that I still find time to sit back and relax with a book in my hands. I love to read novels especially when the book is written by Nicholas Sparks. He is one of my favorite authors and I really admire him for his knack in presenting romantic stories. I really liked every book that I have read from his collection. He has thirteen published novels and I have read five of them namely: “The Notebook”, “Message in a Bottle”, “A Walk to Remember”, “A Bend in the Road” and the most recent one was “The Wedding”.
Summary:
Wilson Lewis has been married to his wife, Jane, for thirty years and the way things are happening in their marriage, he thinks that he and his wife have drifted apart and the most painful part of it is that he feels that his wife had fallen out of love with him and he knew that there is no one else to blame but himself.
Despite the inspiration that he gets from his in-laws Noah and Allie Calhoun (whose own love story was told in The Notebook), Wilson has difficulty expressing his emotions toward his wife and children. He had spent too much time working and too little time with his family thus leaving Jane to take care of their children all by herself. Now that his daughter is getting married, Jane is thinking about leaving him. Despite the not-so-good things that happened all these years in their marriage, Wilson is very certain that his love for his wife has become stronger over the years and he will do anything he can to save their marriage and swears to find a way to make Jane fall in love with him all over again.
Reaction:
It is a heart-warming love story that never fails to get the reader involved as one turns a page to another. While I was reading the book, it absolutely captivated my heart and when the story came to an end, it didn’t fail to make me cry. The story was touching, lovely and inspiring. It allows people to look back in their lives and see if they have really shown love to their families especially their spouses, and in case they haven’t, the story of Wilson and Jane will inspire and give them hope.
