Ocean’s Thirteen Movie

[ 1 Comment ] Posted on 02.25.09 under Fun and Games

Ocean’s Thirteen was released in June 8, 2007 which was known as World Ocean Day in the United States. It was one of my favorite Hollywood movies. It was such a star-studded film where some of the best actors in Hollywood have come together to be a part of a great movie. It starred George Clooney (Danny Ocean), Brad Pitt (Rusty Ryan), Matt Damon (Linus Caldwell), Andy Garcia (Terry Benedict), Don Cheadle (Basher Tarr), Bernie Mac (Frank Catton), Ellen Berkin (Abigail Sponder), Al Pacino (Willy Bank), Casey Affleck (Virgil Malloy), Scott Caan (Turk Malloy), Eddie Izzard (Roman Nagel), Eddie Jemison (Livingston Dell), Shaobo Qin (”The Amazing” Yen), Carl Reiner (Saul Bloom) and Elliott Gould (Reuben Tishkoff ). It was directed by Steven Soderbergh. Read the rest of this entry…

Valentine’s Day in the Philippines

[ No Comments ] Posted on 02.06.09 under Blogging

I don’t know when Valentine’s Day started in the Philippines but it is definitely a special day annually observed by Filipinos. Whatever the status is: Single, Married, In a relationship, It’s Complicated or Domestic Partnership, most Pinoys do not let this Hearts Day pass without doing something special for their loved ones to show their love for them. It is also on this day when you can see flowers and Valentine cards being delivered in schools, offices, residences and everywhere. Prices of flowers are much more expensive compared to ordinary days but you can see a lot of men flock the flower shops, no longer thinking that they may be paying double for them. Any outfit in red is also dominant. Restaurants are pretty crowded. Romantic films are shown in movie houses readily patronized by lovers. Parks are overflowing with couples. Motels are fully-booked. One can literally say that love is in the air when you hear a lot of love songs being played anywhere you go. You can see many people holding hands somehow exclaiming to the world that they are in-love with each other. These are the common things that happen during Valentine’s Day. 10 Almost Free Travel Deals

[ No Comments ] Posted on 12.12.08 under Travel and Living

I have read an article by Molly Feltner of SmartTravel.com about 10 almost free travel deals. She featured her top limited-time and long-term “free” travel deals worth checking out. Here they are:

1. Kids Fly Free to French Polynesia
Air Tahiti Nui offers two free fares for kids ages 11 or younger, with its kids-fly-free deal, when you book two adult Air Tahiti Nui fares from Los Angeles to French Polynesia from January 12 to May 31, 2009. The deal is applicable for flights to Papeete, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, Manihi, Tikehau, and Fakarava. Adult fares start at $1,428, including all taxes. You’ll still have to pay for taxes on the free children’s fares.

2. Organize a Group Tour, Travel for Free
When you arrange a group of people to book a package together, there are a lot of tour companies that will allow the group leader to travel for free. You have the option to accept the freebie or spread some savings out to everyone in your group. Either way, it’s a good deal. Every tour operator’s group tour policy may slightly differ from each other but most of these tour operator’s groups require you to put together a group of at least 10 paying individuals before you’ll get a free spot.
For instance, Grand Circle Tours, a company that runs trips geared towards mature travellers on six continents, allows a group leader to travel for free with 10 paid travelers on river cruises or 16 paid travelers on land tours. Go Ahead Tours, a similar operator, gives two free spots for every group of 12 or more paying guests. Be sure to ask your tour company if they offer similar deals.

3. Pay for Three Nights, Get Seven at Club Med
Club Med’s recurring “Seven-Day Weekend” bundle is back, undertaking seven nights for the cost of three at eight of its all-inclusive resorts. The deal is legitimate at family-friendly Club Meds in Read the rest of this entry…

Wall-E Movie Review

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.26.08 under Blogging

We watched Wall-E last Sunday night. It was not really a movie of preference but there is nothing more interesting to watch aside from it.

The first 10-15 minutes of the movie was dragging. It concentrated on the robot called Wall-E. Its lifestyle was shown on how its robot life is spent each day. It was a lonely robot. Luckily, a cockroach became its friend and liven up its daily life. Despite the slow roll of events on the first part, the movie picked up speed on the next events as the essence of the story was unfolded. When the film was shown, I think the kids enjoyed it.

I find the movie interesting and I do think it was a good one but it didn’t really give such a kick like what I expected. Maybe there should have been more exciting events for it to be more appealing to people aside from kids.

The Mummy : Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Movie Review

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.17.08 under Entertainment

Who would think that a movie starring several big stars in both sides of the Pacific could deliver a relatively disappointing third movie of a mummy brought back to life. Here are the reasons why I feel this movie will be better if they have the following

What I don’t like in the ending is that the daughter never talked with his dead father (which sucks) and the special effects with both parents faces forming in the dust flowing in the wind reminds me of the effect they used in the previous movies. I was hoping for something more original but they only had a few that I found interesting.

But of course, there are parts in the movie that I liked Read the rest of this entry…

Baby Shower Gifts

[ No Comments ] Posted on 08.17.08 under Toys and Gifts

It was a Friday and everyone in the Launch Department was very busy. We were busy with our work but we were even busier with something else. We were preparing for our surprise baby shower party for one of our colleagues Susan, Team Manager of web designers, who is expecting a baby this September. Susan has been with us for more than three years now and everyone loves her. She is so sweet and thoughtful. Though she is one of the bosses, she never got any air of arrogance with her. That’s why we all thought that she deserves to be happy especially that she is excited to have her baby. She didn’t have a clue of the celebration that day. We were very good in keeping that party a secret. It was good to know that even her closest friends managed to zip their mouths about our surprise for her. Each of us took part in the party preparations. Everything was taken care of especially the gifts.

A Very Special Love Movie Review

[ 2 Comments ] Posted on 08.17.08 under Entertainment

A Very Special Love MovieWe went to see this romantic comedy “A Very Special Love” at SM Megamall. The movie was about the following

The movie shows that even a heartless person can fall in love with a happy go lucky girl with just a simple post-it notes in the coffee in the morning. As much as I want to share some spoilers, I urge you to watch the movie in cinemas or wait until a DVD version comes out. Basta ang cute talaga at nakakakilig!

We all know that Sarah Geronimo has crush with John Lloyd Cruz, and this movie is a surely Sarah’s greatest dream to finally become a leading lady of her greatest crush.

In the movie, you will definitely see spark’s in Sarah’s eyes and she really expressed her emotions as it were for real Read the rest of this entry…

Having problems searching online for cheap LCD TVs? Why not search on shopping focused site where you can find the perfect LCD TV you want for your living room? Why not check out ShopWiki, an site listing all online stores on the Internet.

Shopping CommunityUnlike Google, you can only see product focused results here and you can find the exact product you want, or price range, and you can be assured that what you found is for sale. Store Owners can also add their online stores here so people using ShopWiki can also find what they are selling.

This is one LCD TV in particular which I think is good for is this Philips 42″ LCD TV which costs £1,527.49. The great thing about this site is I can see which stores are selling this exact product. This saved me a lot of time searching online.

Journey to the Center of the Earth Movie

[ No Comments ] Posted on 07.13.08 under Entertainment

Journey to the Center of the Earth MovieWe went to see the movie entitled Journey to the Center of the Earth. We were expecting it to be a remake of the novel but interestingly they made it an adventure movie with a similar style to National Treasure.

The movie was a great adventure movie for the family. We laughed several times watching the film and we had a reborn interest of reading novels by Jules Verne.

The reason I said it was like National Treasure, it because it looks like it will become a series of movies staring both Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson and their adventures, and their next stop is…. Atlantis (spoiler alert!).

Overall it was a great adventure movie for the entire family.

Oh Nuts! Rock Candy at Wholesale Prices!

[ No Comments ] Posted on 07.07.08 under Food and Health

Oh Nuts! Rock Candy at Wholesale Prices!I have always loved candy ever since I was a kid, and thanks to my dentist, I still have good teeth.

To those who don’t know what a rock candy is, rock candies are basically composed of large sugar crystals. Candies originally started in Persia (now Iran) and India and the process of making candies are similar to how it originally started.

While looking for unique candies on the Internet, I came across this site that sells Rock Candy & Sugar Swizzle Sticks, Bulk Nuts, Bulk Candy, Bulk Chocolate, Dried Fruit, and Jelly Beans at Wholesale prices.

Their rock candies and sugar swizzle sticks starts as low as $0.39! Wow that’s a great wholesale price I can buy for my niece and nephews.

PR3 or PR0?

[ No Comments ] Posted on 05.03.08 under Blogging

I checked my website today and I was surprised to see that it showed a PR3! Hmmm…I wonder in what data center did the previous PR0 came from. I’m also wondering, for people who drop by my site (if ever there are any),  what is the PR that you see for my site?

I still don’t have any relevant topic to talk about today because I still am very busy but I do hope that in the near future, I can post some new interesting ones so that you can read posts with real meat here. :)

Hello World! I’m Back (only for today)!

[ No Comments ] Posted on 05.01.08 under Blogging

I haven’t written anything on this blog for more than a month, much worse even check it. I currently have a lot of things on my plate and I just don’t have the luxury of time to update this site as often as I used to. I was happy to drop by my site today but only to find out that Google dropped me from PR2 to PR0! Damn! I’m just so devastated with what happened! I know PR2 is not pretty big but it is still PR2! At least it’s much higher than nothing at all! I know that Google has reasons why they dumped my site and I just learned about this “supplementary results” thing and maybe, just maybe they dumped me in there. Dunno.

Well, oh, well. At this point, I would just have to leave it as it is. I still have other important things to take care of. I just hope that I will gain my PR back. :-)

Manila Ocean Park

[ No Comments ] Posted on 03.13.08 under Blogging, Entertainment

Manila Ocean Park. It’s one of the big fuss nowadays. It was opened on February 29, 2008. I heard about it on the news when it was featured in TV Patrol World. I got intrigued by it because it is the first Oceanarium in the Philippines. With much curiosity, there are a lot of people who really want to visit the place and see for themselves  what this spectacular place offers. I was one of those people who want to experience the beauty of the first and largest aquarium facility in the Philippines. With much enthusiasm to see the place, I went there with someone last Saturday (March 8, 2008).

There were a lot of people indeed. There was a very long line of people too excited to see the Oceanarium and we all had to be patient to wait in line. But after the tiresome wait for almost 2 hours, me and my companion finally got in. There were two doors where people gain entry to the Oceanarium. Above those doors were detectors which count the number of people who enter it. I was shocked to see the figures because on that day at around 5pm, there were almost 9000 visitors and people still kept coming in! Read the rest of this entry…

My Big Love

[ 3 Comments ] Posted on 03.02.08 under Entertainment

I watched the most-awaited film “My Big Love” yesterday at SM MegaMall Cinema 10. This movie is starred by promising young movie stars in the industry namely Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby and Kristine Hermosa. Co-stars in the film are Sandy Andolong, Ricardo Cepeda, Malou de Guzman, Janus del Prado, Jaymee Joaquin, Michelle Madrigal, Lito Pimentel, Aldred Gatchalian and many more. I have seen its trailer on TV several times and people who have already watched it blurted words of praise on how wonderful and romantic the movie is. I somehow got intrigued to that but even before I heard comments from people who have already seen the movie, I already planned to watch it by the time I knew that it is going to be shown as a post-Valentine film.

The story is about a pastry chef named Macky (Sam Milby) who has struggled with his weight for a long time. His dream girl is Ninia (Kristine Hermosa) who is also his chat mate. He constantly gives her pastries and flowers without revealing himself. Until such time that they decided to meet but unfortunately, it was a total disaster. As a result, he hired Aira (Toni Gonzaga) as his personal trainer and as they worked together to achieve Macky’s ideal weight, they both learned to like and appreciate each other. It was not long when an offer from Japan came Aira’s way and she decided to accept it, being the breadwinner of the family. Two years passed and the Macky that everyone used to laugh at has now become one of the sought-after bachelors in the city and who is soon-to-be engaged to his girlfriend Ninia. It was also at this time that Aira’s and Macky’s paths crossed again. The confusion and turmoil led into heartaches for the three people involved in the love triangle. It is now up to Macky who he will choose as his big love: Ninia, the girl he had always dreamed of or Aira, the girl who has always accepted him for who and what he is? Read the rest of this entry…

Spock.com – A Great Place for Search

[ No Comments ] Posted on 03.02.08 under Computers and Internet

Spock.com – A Great Place for SearchThere is a very interesting website that I discovered while surfing on the Internet. I was searching for a friend I had way back in grade school to know what she has been up to. We were very close back then but lost touch when she migrated to another country. The website I came across with was Spock.com. It is a search engine which you can use to search for information on different people on the web like your friends, colleagues, favorite Hollywood stars, medical specialists, fashion models, realtors and many more. For me, this is a special search engine because it focuses its searches on people and their information. You can search using the exact name of the person, email, location or any tags related to the person which may have been added by the person or by the Spock members. I never knew that there is such a website like Spock.com that specializes in finding everyone you know in the Internet in a fast and easy way. I am sure glad that I learned about this pretty useful and helpful website because I can now connect with friends and colleagues and include them in my Trust Network so I can get personalized results whenever I do some search. This means that when I search for someone, the first results that will appear are people whom I have Spock connection. Through Spock.com, I can reconnect with friends I have lost touch with and widen my network of acquaintances through friends. Read the rest of this entry…

Too Much Pain Overpowers the Love

Yesterday was not the best day of my life. Some problems occurred and it brought me pain and sorrow. I thought that the hurt that I felt would simply fade away just like before, but it didn’t. I still feel the pain.

It occurred to me that when we are too hurt, the love in our hearts slowly fades away. Too much pain overpowers the love. The worst thing is when we continue to feel this pain and then lose love completely.
